MFV-04 Magnesium Wheels

F1 lightweight technology wheel designed for track use. The craftsmanship is lightweight yet strong, with front wheels about 16.3lbs (7.4kg) and rear wheels about 21lbs (9.5kg). Forged magnesium makes the wheel approximately 30% lighter than forged aluminium, with about 12 % higher specific strength, high damping capacity and eco friendly recyclability. Innovations reduce unsprung mass, shorten braking distance, improve acceleration and overall performance, using high thermal conductivity for longer brake life and better fuel efficiency. Manufacturing uses a 10,000-ton forging press, hot flow forming, heat treatment, CNC turning and milling, polishing and grinding, and micro arc oxidation, and certified strength tests include radial, rotary and impact fatigue tests.
